New Record!
Wow, over more then six months, surely that is some sort of record in blog land for not posting.
But on with the show!
This lovely comes from the summer of '28. What with the love of flappers and booze from Boardwalk Empire, love the show but way to much foul language!, I thought this was a nice little somethin' somethin'.

Fresh From the Oven
Mmm nothing like fresh homemade English muffins! It was super easy, and made even easier by the electric pancake griddle.
This lovely thing was the result of having bought four lbs of strawberries last Saturday, and they were clearly starting to feel their age. Thanks to Smitten Kitchen and her Strawberry Summer Cake I was able to use those sucka's up. The cake has more of a shortcake/biscuit flavor, so don't go expecting something like yellow cake mix by any means. Now if only I had some whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Not in the mix
So clearly me and blogging just don't go hand in hand. Between work, life and a boyfriend I just don't bother to post like I could. That is all.

Falling into Aprons
I've had a long time obsession with aprons, it's dithered away for a little bit with so much else on my plate, but gosh if I don't love aprons! I was even known as 'the apron girl' at a camp this last year, because I brought up many of my own aprons to use as the one's provided didn't cover everything to my needs.
This is the first apron I made, from Simplicity 3544 respectively. The fabric is of a pumpkin swirl action that I got from the clearance section at JoAnn's. I had managed to put it together in time for my church's Thanksgiving dinner outreach that we have the Saturday night before Thanksgiving. This was back in 2008 and I still made more of this apron.
I love the pockets on this thing, they're nice and deep. The bib also covers every thing up top and even around to the sides, something I find lacking in off the rack aprons one can just buy at the store.
This pattern also seems to be a great present for my friends, so far I've made four as presents, one at request at how much a friend would love to give one to her mom. It's nothing but compliments on this apron.

Gosh it's been forever since I've posted anything, not that there's any one out there reading my blog as it is.
I can't wait to show you, who ever is out there reading this, pictures of my recent creations. But those will have to wait as I don't have a camera to take said pictures.
In the mean time:
{click image for a some what larger size}
A completly recycled lamp thanks to craigslist, spray paint, dumpster diving out behind lamps plus, and my parents never throwing anything away.
Yes those are old slides, for those of you who don't know what picture slides are, you're likely here by mistake. For those that do know about slides some are the old Kodachrome when my grandparents used to travel way back in the day.

Happy V Day!
That's right, today was V J day, and the end of World War Two!
Now go out there and kiss your nurse, or military man.

In Remembrance
I know that the first young man I am in fact related to, the others I do not know about, but I thank them for serving our country and those who died and are honored in the window of their families home.
